One thing that is super common in Botswana is teams of young boys making wire cars. They find stray barbed wire, twist it into shapes like cars, add some used pop cans for wheels, and voila! You have a wire car.
This is so common in Botswana. I’ve seen groups of boys do it in my village, but also other villages, and it was even in Ladies #1 Detective Agency HBO miniseries.
Anyway lesson learned: if you do not bring Hot Wheels Cars to young boys, they will bring them to you.
